Local performers star in acoustic night - Friday 10th Feb.
The next acoustic night in the Studio Bar of Helmsley Arts Centre features 10 of our best local performers doing a couple of songs each. A real mix of styles from a plethora of talent of all ages!

New website looking for contributors
Yorinspired.com is a new website dedicated to highlighting the people and trades that make the region of Yorkshire great!
So what can you expect to find there? Their aim is to highlight people from all walks of life who are making a positive effect on our region. They are specifically looking at arts & crafts, antiques, food & drink, traditional trades, plus a special look at local animal charities. They are also interested in people who have made a life change such as leaving long term employment and are starting up a business on their own.
Do you have an exciting story you’d like to tell? Are you an established business or just starting up? From fledgling artist to theatre director, microbrewery owner to antiques dealer, jam maker to farm shop owner, blacksmith to silversmith, photographer to potter, singer to music teacher and everything in between, they’d love to hear your story and publish a article on their site.

Local Talent to launch our new season with a musical feast...
Ryedale is brimming with talent so don't miss the chance to enjoy some of it at Helmsley Arts Centre on September 11th at 7.30pm in an evening of live music.Four Quarters is an acappella harmony quartet: Lynn Sunley & Carolyn Jarvis from Farndale, Rachel Shackleton from Kirkbymoorside and Rob Davies from Malton. They sing an eclectic mix of popular and contemporary songs - jazz, barbershop, duwop, gospel and songs in Creole and Zulu.
Based in Scackleton Holly Cawte specialises in singing Jazz. Her repertoire includes the soulful sounds of Peggy Lee, Cleo Laine, Nina Simone. She will be accompanied on the piano by Ed Osbourne from Malton, who will also entertain us with couple of jazz solos.
Natasha Jones from Kirkbymoorside and Robin Bunton from Appleton-le-Moors sing, play and write songs drawing on soul, blues and jazz, as well as contemporary songwriters, blending styles, vocals and rhythms as they please.
